What is the status of English in Finland? (Consider how much you hear or read English in your free time?)

I don’t actively see English, but it is found on products, which is logical. Most children learn English words from products, like the word “Original” which could be found on some chip bags.

How often do you hear English language being used in Finland (radio, tv, social media, etc.)

Insanely rare, I don’t think I’ve heard it in Finnish media for a good while now.

Do you think English will affect the Finnish language? How? (give 2-3 reasons why or why not)

I mean not really, but the more people migrate to Finland, the English speaker count will rise and rise.

We went into the K-Market that’s located next to our high school for the project. We looked around and found a few American products. For example, Dr Pepper originates from the USA, and still has its labels in English. There were a lot of other products that had their labels in English as well, my examples are Doritos and Pringles in this case. Some of them just had small English translation there, so English speakers could read that for better understanding of that product. We forgot to look at the magazines but from what I remember from my glancing, I don’t remember any of them having English on them. I do appreciate that most product designers have English text on their products, as that make it easy for foreigners to understand what a product is. Though in the small town of Harjavalta, you won’t see foreigners much, most of them stick to popular cities like Helsinki and Turku. I appreciate that American and British products are making their way into Europe more, as ordering them is such a pain. Speaking about the store, even the name of the store itself could be understood by a person who speaks English, because Market is a word that originates from the Latin language, which is spread out between plenty of languages, and English and Finnish share the same version of the word.

I wrote it on a separate word document so I could have it exactly be 1.3k symbols.
